Chameleon In Xbox V1.4 Solderless

Can anyone verify that--with v1.4 or v1.5 or the xbox and a Chameleon chip with v1.8 Cromwell bios, that you can flash the chip using the method described above?  I have read about people SPECULATING that the v1.8 Cromwell bios just isnt outputting the video to xbox's 1.4/1.5 due to the new Focus chip, but that the Chameleon with v1.8 bios is indeed working.  I have yet to see anybody successfully flash a Chameleon with a new bios without a programmer or another modded xbox.

I believe a Cromwell v1.8 bios just isn't compatible with xbox's v1.4/1.5 with Focus chip.

I had xbox v1.4 and Chameleon with v1.8 Cromwell.  Checked the voltages and all were correct on my multimeter.  Still my xbox only FRAGged.  And it never ejected the DVD tray even after 10 minutes.  So I gave up and flashed my TSOP instead.  Everything worked perfectly with the TSOP method.

This is all true.  But you still have to use a programmer with v1.8 of Cromwell.  That is why the LE is better.  It has a customized legal BIOS that works with newer boxes.

It is not just the screen that isn't working, but the box does not detect a BIOS at all with 1.8.

With my newer BIOS it DOES get detected by 1.4/5 boxes.

Otherwise, you CAN get a 1.3 chip to work...as long as you have the programmer.

Okay, im new around here and I've been reading everything I can before I go ahead and mod my xbox. I'm not new to modding in general, as I have installed ps and ps2 mods before (although I do NOT consider myself a professional by any means). A question that I have and cant seem to find any solid information on is this, with the Chameleon LE P&E modchip and with a v1.4 - v1.5 xbox console, will I be able to see the Linux Cromwell BIOS boot screen? And will the blue LED on the modchip blink? Will the xbox read DVD+R media? I just want to know what I'm getting myself into before I invest my cash =).
