Even XBox-Wired is down for the count a few weeks.  It sounds like you are one of the few who got a bad flash on their chip.  Have you tried to contact EasyBuy with this?

Yeah, I sent them a copy of this post. We will see what they have to say.

Here's what they told me today.

>You did not have to do that.

>The idea of the solder-less adapter is because you do not have to solder.

>If you know how to solder then your better off installing the pin header install.

>Yes we well be getting more programmers very soon.

>That would be the ONLY way to tell 100% if it is a problem with your chip or not.

You are the third or fourth person to post this type of problem from EasyBuy in the last few days.  This is really not looking good.  It is ashamed that XBox Wired is closed for a bit.

I ordered an Xbit from divineo.com today.  Well, actually I think I did.
I seem to be having trouble with their order system, but I'll be overly optimistic and assume it will be here soon.
I've read good and bad about the xbit too, but lets not think about that right now.  At least it's got the built in usb programmer.

I sent easybuy another email hoping to exchange my Chameleon.  I've got a few xboxs so wtf.  I'll get to play with both mods.

style42, I had a similar problem.

Just something to point out - if the LPC holes were filled (which they were), you could of placed the solderless adapter on top of them, because the pins will make contact with the filled holes.

So am I correct in the rewiring the D0 port on solder joint 4 fron the Enigmah installation manual? I used a ohm meter and I do get beep when I touch both points. I beleive that is what I was told when I installed the Matrix chips, that sole pogo pin at the end was D0 and that pin was also referenced for the chameleon. (same point). So when the solder joint came loose during an installation I tapped the wire to that point in the back and the sucker worked. So I am assuming that point is correct in my assumption.  So in essence if I am getting the xbox booting up as if the chip wasn't installed (as previous posts that I had with the other chameleon you helped me with) then it would be the BIOS.  I'll try that but can you verify the D0 point for me. Thanks.

Yes that sounds right...make sure you check the voltage on that.  You don't want to fry anything.  I even looked at my adapter, and that seems right.

Right, unless you have a programmer, or the chip already has a bios on it other than Cromwell.
