Soldering Matrix D0

Greets,

My friend's matrix kept shifting out of place, so I decided to solder down the D0 point since the rest of the LPC points stay within contact area.
I removed the D0 pin from the chip and wired that connection to the alternate D0 on the back of the board.
No success.  All connections testing ok w/ multimeter but no boot from matrix.
Do I *HAVE* to use the top D0?!

Please advise.

No, you dont have to use the top D0, I recommend against it if you are not an accomplished solderer.

Chances are you connected it to the wrong place. The ALT D0 is on a diagonal row of solder pads, easy to get the wrong one.

Double check the position of the ALT D0, perhaps use the multimeter to check that where you have connected is the same as the top D0?

Cheers
