Sounds like the chip is mis-aligned to me (I had the same problem the other day)

is it flashing red/green even with out the matrix installed ?

if so .. check your D0 point carefully is could be a broken track ?

If your xbox works okay without the matrix installed .. then i suggest u try cleaning the LPC points with some alcohol .. as well as the pogos .. then replace teh matrix and re-align

man theres an extensive thread about its called fried xbox
basically it happened to me too and there was a time that it only worked with the chip and evo 2.5 but yes if there is any sense in it i believe that the reason that this problem occurs is probably somehow the main bios gets deleted oh hell i cant think of something else if you have better ideas why the xbox only works with the chip in it be my guest but it cannot be a broken trace because of what i just typed there is no chance by long shots

no dont resort to extreme things yet meanwhile i suggest you to try and boot your xbox with the matrix try evox 2.5 it should work

i dont know i think there is something that gives access to the matrix to erase the whole bios im not really sure but it does seem like that if you reckon all the aspects

your box is not fried just slap it on the top a few times and it will work.
mine did.

maybe is the dashupdate or loose wire.

While I apreciate u trying to help .. please be carefull what u say, it was for your sake that I spent my time yesterday going into detail about the problems some of you are facing ... and as I expected I waisted my time ...

The only thing that u said that I can agree with is the first 3 words of the second quote above..

First of all the matrix is not some magical device that can "erase the whole bios" , especaily if the user has not soldered the RD# and WR# points on the motherboard. With those two points disabled (all retail xbox are shipped disabled ) even the all mighty Bill himself could not touch your motherboard bios !!!!

If you got your xbox to work with the matrix at one stage and not without , it IS most likely the D0 track that is broken ..

I thank everyone for their inmput but i have done my research for months before i bought it and never seen a issue with the matrix, now when i have a problem i have notice 1,000s of issues with the same chip. Everyone i have talked to and read about has sworn up and down that if you flash your tsop that infact it works. I dont know, im not willing to try it but i am looking for someone that knows what they are doing and able to help me. I just dont understand it cant boot. Beeping of a drive in PC world is considered something not hooked up or something is dead like Memory. In my case i have check and check and have seen nothing that shows that either the HDD or DVD has failed. Both work fine. Also when you build a pc (barebones) without a flashed Bios it failes to turn on cuz it has nothing to say go here to find a OS. IN my opinion and of others I think the TSOP had been erased or in some way failed due to chipping the system. Its only logical, No Bios No start up cuz it has no command to look someplace for one. If you know pcs then you know a MB or any chip is stupid it needs to be told what to do. Next, i have tried flashing original bios/ X2 4977 bios/ and even great ol Cromwell to start everything back up. Nothing happens but ON/OFF Red/Green Flash. Everything is hooked up and grounded they way it should be. If anyone can offer help or a contact in the Central Florida/ Orlando area that can help that would be great. Thanks!

look man i have already said it before i dont know if in this thread or other because i frankly didnt read the upper messages anyway like i have already typed it i have already encountered the same thing and partially got it fixed with evox 2.5 in mode 2 but it strangely got stuck on the animation screen thats why i strongly believe that it has something to do with the bios otherwise im clueless dont attempt to flash tsop because its immensely nugatory instead what i am suggesting you to try is getting your hands on evox 2.5 and try it

by the way before anyone is starting to think that im influencing people here to implement ineffectually risky things then no im just contributing my share to this case and presenting the situation and "ingredients" of how i treated it but ineffectively resultless
