Having Problem With Xbox
« on: September 13, 2003, 11:03:00 AM »

I flashed the chameleon with the original retail bios that I loaded to the c folder of the xbox.  Because the xbox was previously modded, I can't seem to get the xbox to boot.  I switched the dashboard with the evox one and the xbox won't boot.  I believe that this is because the xbox is looking for the xboxdash.xbe file and it sees the evox file.  Is there a way to get around this or is there a way to unflash my chameleon 1.3 at all?
Thanks,  I know it was stupid what I did, but I thought that I was flashing the xbox bios on the xbox motherboard and not the chameleon itself.  I also thought I had a faulty .ini file in the first place causing the xbox not to boot to the xbox dashboard when I named it msxboxdash.xbe.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did u do a complete 1meg flash ?

was your chameleon in mode 3 ?

try setting mode 1 and checking all 4 banks ..

if all 4 banks contain original ms bios and u  r 100% sure .. u have one of 2 options

1. find a friend (or if u have one ) and use a matrix programer to reflash the biso via pc
2. carefully use another chip (borrowed or old) to "hot swap" and use the xbox to reflash .. ( hot swap involves booting the xbox with one chip .. and then replacing the chip with the bad flash one .. not recomended , cause it is potentialy hazardous to the user and the xbox !!! )
