"The CDRW needs to be burned mode 1 with Joliet off. Do not make an ISO or XISO out of the disc...just a standard data CD."

What program can I use to do this? I tried Nero, but it didnt seem to work, i created the dummy file, and i still get something that says "Loading linuxboot.cfg from CDROM... Unable to find it, halting"

So you HAVE made a CDRW with the BIOS AND the dummy file on it?  Yes NERO is the easiest to do this with.

Next question:  did you wait a minute or so after the DVD tray ejected BEFORE inserting the CDRW?  I found that if I waited at least a minute to a minute in a half, when I finally inserted the CD, it flashed in about 10 seconds.

I used nero, put the x2 bin and a 120mb dummy called aaaa.aaa on the disc, and i still get "Loading linuxboot.cfg from CDROM... Unable to find it, halting". I tried waiting before putting the disc in, but it didnt help.

Just a quick question, do you have to burn onto a CDRW or can it be a CDR?  I don't see how it should  matter but every post I've read has always said CDRW, never CDR.

Ok let me help here...

Did your rename the X2_4977.bin BIOS to LINUXBIO.BIN?

If not, it will NOT work on Chameleon.  But that is in the instructions as well.
