With the solderless adapter, do you still have to solder in the P and E points to use the mode 4 functions? Do you need to solder P and E points to use the eject trick that turns off the mod?

Thanks

you'll need to solder in P/E even with the solderless adapter

umm...no u don't...u can disable the mod and boot from ms dash through evox...u dont need to solder p/e!!

I inserted it into the xbox when then bios asked me for it. it said it was good and accepted it , turned itself off(reboot) and now its just black. I cant even get the xbox dash to come up.....anybody can help me?

uhh.gif  Wha? I didn't know that's possible... to me, taking a 1MB bios and making it 256k sounds like you cut out a bunch of its code.

Maybe that's the problem?

And are you using Matrix or Chameleon? Cause if Chameleon, you coulda just used Mode 3.

sad.gif   You could wait for someone elses advice or you can try reflashing it-from my understanding, there's a cromwell bios in each bank in mode 1.
