Flashing Problem With Chameleon
« on: August 20, 2003, 05:05:00 PM »

it's probably not recognizing the disc, I'm betting you have a thomson dvd drive in there...  three options here, re-burn it, adding a "dummy file",get someone to burn you a dvd-r copy of the bios,  or keep hitting the power button till it catches - it probably will after 5-10 tries...

thomson drives are very fussy about media and burning options...theres a whole forum here on the witchcraft of getting those cheesy drives to read burned media...  good luck...

I'd just keep trying though, it's likely to cost more than replacing the drive to keep buying media, and in the end, it's more luck than anything else...  you only need to feed your xbox *1* cd-rw, after that, you can ftp stuff in...

Do this...

When the tray first pops out on Cromwell...wait.  Wait.  Do nothing. Do nothing for at least 60+ seconds.  THEN...

Insert your cd with the new bios on it.  The flashing should take a few seconds after that.

This is the ONLY method that worked for me.

Best,

JD

I use K-hypermedia brand cd's(cheap stuff).

Although there is no garuntee that that brand would work for you.
