Your Xbox is TOAST.  My friend just did the same thing, he brought his matrix modded box over, plugged it in, got a error,, tryed to realign the matrix.  He re-aligned it, then all it did was rebooted like 3 times in a row, with or without the mod chip in it.  Seems the matrix has a way of either shorting out a xbox or scratching the motherboard, not sure what it does but it can kill a xbox.

You're kidding, right?  For the love of god, tell me you're joking!  I checked the mobo and there are no scratches whatsoever on it.  I've had the chip come loose before and reseated it without any problems, how would this time be any different?  

If indeed my XBox is toast, does anyone know where I could get a replacement mobo?

Hey man I wish I was joking, but im not the SAME THING just happened to my friend like 3 days ago, hes PISSED too.  That prompted me to take out my matrix and do the exploit dash, atleast I wont have to worry about my xbox getting toasted.  He brought his xbox over, got a error, we romoved the matrix thinking it was mis-aligned, tryed to realign it,, 3 reboots no video, took the matrix out, 3 reboots no video.  Looked at the motherboard, no scratches we could see, but it sure did blow his xbox somehow, im guessing it got moved while it was on from being bumped when he set it down or something and shorted it out.  Iv'e seen this happen twice now, two different friends,, matrix mod chips are SCARY man, I would like to know if theres a way to fix it other than getting a new xbox or maybe a new motherboard,, anyone?

one of my customers had the same problem.i checked the connection from top d0 to backside d0 and there was none.no visible damage on the track but a wire fixed it and he paid me to install a x2 for him why not go for the right chip from the beginning?

I got the Matrix back when it first came out and was the hottest flaming shit on the market.  EVERYONE was saying how amazing it was, how easy it would be to install, etc.  Nobody claimed there would be any problems with it whatsoever, let alone something like this.  

You said a wire fixed it?  What, did you just solder a wire from the top d0 to the back d0?  Any chance you could go into a bit more detail?  How did you find the connection from d0 to d0 was borked?  I'm guessing you used a multimeter, huh?  

I'm really not afraid of using a soldering iron (I'm a sysadmin/engineer by trade, I've gotten my hands dirty with solder before... I'd just rather not solder my expensive personal possessions), so if you could maybe give me some instructions or pointers here I might be able to fix this without having to shell out another $150 (well, $7.32, but that's another story ) on a new XBox.

Hmm...  well, I took my box to the office and checked it with a multimeter and didn't notice anything amiss...  though I didn't check d0 yet (the internet1 connection at work was down, couldn't get to a pic of the XBox mobo).  Right now I'm pretty much prepping to go out and buy a new refurb XBox on Tuesday, but until then I'll futz around and see what I can figure out here.   Any help/tips anyone can give will be most appreciated!

dude, same problem here, just put the original M$ bios on the TSOP. Your matrix erased them.

Ok,  how would I go about flashing the TSOP?  And how did the Matrix erase the TSOP anyway?  I thought it was locked by default unless you do some soldering or something, is there a way to flash the TSOP with software?

Actually, how would I put the MS BIOS on the TSOP at this point anyway?  The XBox refuses to boot at all, I can't load up any CDs or anything.  Do you have a link to a tutorial or something?

I also have a xbox messed up using Matrix.  I checked all the LPC points (includes d0).  They all seem to be working.  I even tried the alt-d0 to top-d0 trick....didn't work.  TSOP must got erased somehow..  Its so werid..
I am planning on putting in a X2.2 later...  Hopefully that will work..  Or I will just have lots parts..

it is possible the matrix got your box.  It's also possible you've got a bad hard drive cable, loose screws on the motherboard, a cockroach under the board, or any one of a hundred other reasons for a frag...

worst case you need a board, not a whole xbox - get on ebay - they're $50 , and there's lots of them - and don't go into the "oh god" thing - put your old board on there as "fried" and someone will buy it, and probably pay almost all of your money back.  don't know why, but after selling a couple of new boards on there, I found people were willing to pay almost as much for fried stuff - I don't understand it, but that's what happens, and you might as well take advantage of it...  people are buying *locked* hard discs there for $10, with $10 shipping - wtf?!  I guess one mans trash is another man's paperweight...

oh yeah, if the matrix erased your tsop all by itself, with the write-enable jumpers unsoldered, send it to me, and I'll eat it with some fava beans.... and a nice chianti

I have the same problem, a friend of mine has burned his xbox with the matrix chip (it move during transportation).

looking at the xbox i found that a condensator was burned

A technician has replaced the condensator



but the problem remains, now I'm ready to attempt to solder the D0 to the Alternate one.
Then I will replace my matrix back with the mode where the matrix's bios take over all the time (in case of what i've read here that the tsop has been erased)

I really do not want to buy a new motherboard. The LPC looks ok, need your advice, already asked on other forum and told that the LPC 3 has a stress (begin at the top)
