Firstly, check to make sure all the cables are plugged in correctly and securely.

Secondly, check that he hasn't broken off a capacitor or some other component near the LPC bus.  Check the following tutorial for details of the capacitor I mean:

no video, nothing, the xbox just "hangs" after the reboots, no ejectvideoetc

I have seen this a few times and 90% of the time it is a solder splash or broken trace.  (I would say in your case it would be a damaged d0 from the alignment process)

5% of the time it is some sort of component (diode, capacitor, etc) has been lifted off of the board.

The other 5% of the time it seems that somehow during or after the mod a component on the board goes bad, perhaps from a static shock or other anomoly.  These are destined for the xbox graveyard in the sky.

Hi I have the same problem with a friends xbox but with the modchip out or turned off the xbox works fine. Would this be a D0 problem and if it is how can this be solved?

If the Xbox works fine with the mod disabled and FRAG's with the mod enabled, then you know that you have a good d0 connection.  Your problem either lies in the LPC connections, the DIP settings, or the bios on the chip.
