Don't make an iso of it, just burn it like a data cd.

laugh.gif ) any ways, it says loading linuxboot.cfg from CD-ROM... (it used to say that, but then it said not found and then it haulted) and it just stays there... was i not patient enough, how long does it take to load that file.

P.S. i burned it on a CD-RW that i know is readable by my drive because i burned ozxflash and it loaded (but i dont want to use that to flash) and i have no duimmy file.

QUOTE (Psychosis @ Jul 27 2003, 11:27 PM)
1. Rename your bios 'LINUXBIO.BIN' (all uppercase)
2. Add in a 100MB dummy file and call it '0dummy.dat'
3. Burn CD-RW

There are freeware programs available to help you create a dummy file of any size. Just do a search on Google.

1 hey thanx ill try that.. now, on my desktop i have it named LINUXBIO and the .bin is the extension, should i name the LINUXBIO.BIN so the complete file name is LINUXBIO.BIN.bin , or should i just leave it LINUXBIO so the complete filename w/extension is LINUXBIO.bin uhh.gif

2 ok, once ive done that, should my dummy file be .bin (because i have a program that does that) or should it preferably be .dat ?

3 Finally, how should i burn it: like a data CD or make an .iso

whew thats all of my questions for now laugh.gif

thx in advance

Generaly anthing else will need to made into an x iso, apps, games, etc.

But the boot cd with this bios on does not need to be. I beleive it is
because the Cromwel/Linux bios wont read an  x iso.

Like Psychosis, add a dummy file, could be anything.  A bunch of MP3s,
a movie file, etc.  name your bios you want to flash the chip with

LINUXBIO.BIN

then burn it like a data cd.

As for the dummy file names, I just dragged a couple of halo movies I had.
I didnt rename them at all.

crap, now i have a new problem, i was sucsessful in flashing it, but could it be that the bios was bad?? because now when i boot in bank 0 the blue light on the chameleon never comes on and no more video. im hoping it was just a bad bios becuase i can always reflash bank 0 if i boot in bank 1, what do you think, was it a bad bios??? i am going to get a colored bios right now to see if it works.

love.gif ) anyways, is it still supposed to say MS underneath, it still does, i have the evox d.6 blue bios. ok but now when i put the dashboard in it says this disk is not readable, note that i did not yet put a dummy (which greatly helped in flashing the bios) and i made an iso....

I just hope mine comes with a screw.

you know what, i think its better if you go out and buy a screw, i got one with a very fat top, and becuase of that, it stays down better. so if they give you one try it out, but im pretty sure that the two pogopins farthest from the screw will not have good contact blink.gif just a thought... i dont know what kind of screw they give you , if they are supposed to but hopefully it is one with a fat head, that helped me

I just received my Chameleon but having no luck. I went out a bought a #4 1/2" metal screw, which seemed to fit just fine and held the solderless adapter quite well. Unfortunately, when I power on, the modchip does not glow blue and the MS dashboard comes up. Any thoughts?

yea i have some thoughts, make sure all the dips are off, thats the up position, then make sure the LPC connections are good (thats what gives the light power. if thise dont work, i duggest you return your chip and get a new one, the one you have might not be flashe blink.gif

yes thats what i did, my holes are filled, i pused it all the way down, and made sure the spring was in the d0 BEFORE i put the screw, man its hard to move that thing where you want it when it is soo tight down
