Chameleon + Solderless Adapter

doubt anyone's gotten theirs yet, but it looks pretty good.  i like the way they have that little wire so you can put it in the d0 hole, meaning it'll fit any model machine.

the chameleon solderless works on all versions of the xbox, even those with filled LPC holes.  then you just have to stick the extra wire thing into the d0 hole and you'll have an installed chip.......but i hear they don't come with a long enough screw... blink.gif

It accually looks like those things will work tongue.gif  They should cover the D0 wire with something though.  I imagine someone will break it off, or it might touch something by mistake and something might smoke?

are you sure the flled holes?  Seems like the pins need to go thru to make a secure connection?

I believe the best way to install the chameleon is via soldering pin headers, You are just relying on friction for contact with pogo pins. dry.gif

hey guys, i got a chip w/ solderless adapter, it works great, my LPC holes are filled, and i didnt even have 2 scrape away that d0 point that spring fits in there perfectly!!

EDIT: Oh yea i forgot, i needed 2 get a new screw, if i can get the specs, ill post them, but i do know that since the screw had a  fat head, like a large diameter, it helped keep the adapter from moving

Well, I finished installing the Chameleon using the pin header. Everything went better than expected given my brutal soldering skills. I made sure to read all the tutorials on Xbox-Scene to make sure I was doing it right.

I'm happy to report that I can boot the Cromwell bios and the Chameleon is flashing blue.  biggrin.gif
However, I'm still trying to flash the bios with an Xecuter bios but not having much luck. It's probably the media I'm using but I'll keep trying.

BTW, I bought the solderless adapter because I was really hesitant on soldering a modchip. After frying 2 PSone, I didn't want to hose my Xbox. Had I known that soldering via the pin header method is relatively painless, I would have probably opted for the Xecuter 2.2 lite modchip instead. Oh well ...

True that there is no tutorial right now

That's Team Xodus for you.  I know of quite a few people, including myself, that are still waiting for the Chameleon TSOP Flash Tutorial and BIOS.
