The 2nd time, I was in another location.. we tried out 2 pc's and it just would not work in the first, no matter how hard I pushed. Then on a laptop, I got it to work and yes, I had to push and hold the programmer into the parallel port.
The 3rd one.. I was at work. And we tried THREE pc's.. No matter how hard I pushed into the first two.. it would never flash. Then we tried the third. Well.. it flashed it no problem and no pushing was necessary. We just plugged it in, and it worked fine.
So go figure..

It was always something different. And that was divided up between 6 pc's! So you just never know. If you got access to another pc.. try that. Other than that, the only thing I could say is make sure you got a new battery, and PUSH THAT SUCKER in for life!

(Don't break it of course)
