try the programmer from team xodus website

try pinching the matrix to the programmer while at the same time
holding the 2 tight to the PC's LPT port. you will have to hold it like that thru
out the flashing proccess.

The 2nd time, I was in another location.. we tried out 2 pc's and it just would not work in the first, no matter how hard I pushed. Then on a laptop, I got it to work and yes, I had to push and hold the programmer into the parallel port.

The 3rd one.. I was at work. And we tried THREE pc's.. No matter how hard I pushed into the first two.. it would never flash. Then we tried the third. Well.. it flashed it no problem and no pushing was necessary. We just plugged it in, and it worked fine.

So go figure..  blink.gif It was always something different. And that was divided up between 6 pc's!  So you just never know. If you got access to another pc.. try that. Other than that, the only thing I could say is make sure you got a new battery, and PUSH THAT SUCKER in for life!  jester.gif  (Don't break it of course) wink.gif

I tried flashing my matrix on my PC and I couldn't get it work at all. Fortunately I had a laptop here too and it works golden, I have flashed it on there multiple times. Lucky me.

i had that problem
then i got a new programmer and it worked, but i had to try 4 machines, and 4 diff batteries... it is a very picky programmer and even the battery that works may give errors so try it a few times... good luck and keep trying

What I did was flash it with the cromwell bios and then with another one. For some reason after flashing with the cromwell it would work with others.

I had to use the pinch of death on mine as well.  Pinch until you bleed.  Pinch until your vision starts to blur.  Pinch until you feel as though the world is going to end.

Then it worked fine!

Yeah, I think most of you are right. I did have to pinch the hell out of it, I pinched it until my finger almost bleed and it worked fine. Thanks

I'm having trouble flashing my Matrix chip.  I attached it onto the programmer and put it onto the printer outlet.  I made a file and put WinLPC in it.  How do I finish the rest of the flashing process.  I wanna know where I can find some legal BIOS programs but if I ask for one I'll get banned.
