I am starting to consider buying a matrix mod chip from www.easybuy2002.com

I heard from some people that easybuy takes way too long to ship
QUOTE
I also wanted to know if i could still play xbconnect with my mod chip running

yes you can
QUOTE
Is the matrix even a good chip to get?

Most people buy it because they are scared of soldering,  The chip has to be realigned often. get a solder chip.  If you do decide to get a solder chip, practice on an old circuit board before

If you want to buy a solderless chip, get an X2lite 2.1+.  It's a lot newer than the matrix and can hold a bios of up to 1 meg.

ignorant eh?

So I do not know what I am talking about?

How long have you been with the scene?

How many chips have you seen released?

Exactly...the Matrix was a good chip...but face it...it is OUTDATED...there are newer, bigger and better things now!

There are more problems/failure stories than success!

Team Xecuter has put lots of research and hard work into their chips and guess what the outcome is? A VERY reliable, strong, full featured chip that EVERYONE should use!

wink.gif.  But, have I had any problems with my Matrix? Nope.. Nada. None. And neither have the 3 other people I know who've installed it (My brother, my wife's sister's husband, and my coworker). It works great. I can see how misalignment can happen.. if you don't tighten the thing just enough, or if you bang your xbox around quite a bit. BUT, first of all how hard is it to realign? You open the thing, and you just loosen, and realign. Simple. Should take a few minutes. It's probably a hassle, but hey, it IS simple. It's worth noting that I carry my xbox in a bag around to my friends house since January with ZERO misalignment problems. But if it ever happens, I aint worried about it. Like I said, it's a simple job. My next Xbox though will have an Xcecutor. It's all good smile.gif

But.. It's all up to you of course wink.gif

I have looked at the xecuter a lot and wanted to get the 2.2 lite plus but have not been able to find it anywhere does anybody know where i can find it b/c i do not want to do any soddering and i know that the 2.2 lite plus has the led that tells me when it is alligned.  The only thing is is that it comes pre flashed and i have heard of people having problems with flashing it with evoux.  I also see that the matrix is much easier to flash than the 2.2 lite plus with out having to buy all the extra crap.

You don't flash it with Evox initially.  It comes with a version of the Cromwell bios on it called the Cromwell Flashbios.  What this bios lets you do is insert a disc with the bios you want to flash and press a button.  Then, the modchip will be flashed with whatever bios was named bios.bin on the CD you made.

The matrix isn't easier to flash, it just has another method.  The matrix comes with an external programmer which you plug into your computer and use to flash the chip.  The X2s use the Flashbios which is a faster way than plugging everything into the computer.  If you get a bad flash on the X2, you can still order an external programmer or hot swap your modchip in another modded xbox.

I got my Matrix from mods4less.com

I ordered it close to midnight Tuesday night, they shipped it at noon Wednesday, and I got it at noon Thursday.  And I love my Matrix, so easy to install, and if you have to flash it with the programmer because of a bad software flash, its very easy to take out.

laugh.gif ) and bounced the box all over the place, bumped the chip, etc.  I turned it on, and it was still algined perfectly and the switches will allow me to flash the bios without opening it back up again.  I guess it depends on having it lined up right when you install it the first time.  Just take your time and read, READ, and READ.  It looks like you have done a lot of that already.  I am very satisfied with the chip and recommend it to anyone looking for an easy mod.
