Dead Matrix?
« on: July 13, 2003, 03:29:00 PM »

I lent a friend of mine my matrix chip, he wanted to flash his onboard TSOP.

Anyways, suposively he:

flashed the matrix with TSOP_FLASH.bin
he had a hard time aligning the chip but
after he finally got it aligned, he couldn't boot with the TSOP_FLASH.bin
so he decided to be lazy and hook the programmer up to the
matrix while installed in the box. He tried programming but it
wouldn't,  un-installed the matrix and it still wouldn't flash.

So I have the matrix back now, hook it into the back of my pc with the programmer, light comes on,  open up winlpc to flash,  device not detected,  tried numerous pc's etc. The chip used to program fine in my pc.

I don't believe the chip is fried,  I tried installing it,  the xbox doesn't frag,  the dvd drive just makes a clicking noise and it doesn't boot. I guess thats how the TSOP_FLASH.bin was acting for my friend before he decided to be lazy.

Is their anyway to tell what could be blown on the programmer or maybe the chip?, I tried to get a hold of someone locally with another matrix programmer so I could try that, without any luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
