Since your was totally blank, note that there is a special version of Cromwell 1.8 for the Chameleon.

Your picture shows the generic version.  I have not tried the generic version in my Cham.

The prgramming docs, figure 4b, shows the cham version.  "Cham Cromwell 1.8"   Plus the MD5 checksum.

Dink, I just downloaded that version from Xodus' site.... where can I find this other version?

Never mind, I found a copy.  I rechecked and Xodus is definitely listing the generic Chromwell in their download section.  Why are they doing this?

So where do you buy a programmer if you never had a matrix?  I don't see them available a la carte on easybuy2000.

When I odered my Cham, I called them back, asking them to include the matrix programmer with my order.  They were very good about doing that.  You may just have to call them and ask.

I"M PISSED!

I'm so glad I waited before installing!

I started polls ,ect... to get a feeling about install ...and after so many had terrible experiences... I waited!

Just used the Programmer and one of my 2 chameleons doesn't work with the Programmer ...and the other works but didn't have any BIOS on it!

So both the bios is not loaded and one couldn't use the programmer .... i interchanged them about 3 times ... to see if it would work ... and ONLY ONE does!

Any one else having problems?

My guess would be, that your are talking to the onboard Cham controller, but the FLASH is bad.  I would double check with Xodux. You may need to RMA it.  Just like some others are doing.

This may be a dumb question but in the picture in the new programmer manuel  shows the programmer plugged into cham with no 9v battery, however it does show 9v for matrix. Do you need a 9v in programmer when programming cham?

I just received my Chameleon today and tried it with my MatriX programmer.  Below is a screenshot of what I get when I click on Read.  This is on a WinXP machine.  As you can see, it recognises the Cromwell BIOS on all 4 banks.

One thing to note is that there is no red light on the programmer, but the Chameleon's blue light started flashing when I started up the programming software.  I used no cable, just plugged the programmer directly into my LPT port.

You are one LUCKY guy!
Good for you ...you got chip with Chromwell Loaded and also it works with programmer!

I sure wish EASYBUY checks all there chips before shipping them from now on!

I wasn't so lucky ...and I'm returning them!

How was your chip shipped ... mine was in thin letter sized envoloped with a little bubble wrap ... with message SCAN-ME in Orange STicker ...   sure wished they could have shipped it better! It seemed pretty banged up when I found it in my Mailbox!
P.S. Now that software is available... maybe Easybuy can just check also that it works with software and has cromwell loaded.
