I installed a Matrix chip without any problems...You do not need to solder anything in the Matrix chip.  Just screw it on and align the holes.  Use a colored bios so you know it works.  Oh yea, forget the stuff about using needles or pins to align the holes in the Matrix chip.  That stuff is more of a headache than needed.  Just plug the power adapter cable into the XB and leave the video cable off.  (tutorials fail to mention that) Turn on the power (be careful not to touch the power supply or anything else) Align the chip with the power on and when you get that solid green...screw it in place...This should only take a couple of minutes.  Then power off and switch the dips switches, plug in the video, and turn on the XB.  You should now see the XB logo with a different color....(thats why you should use a colored bios to make sure it works)

thats all....

yeh taking apart the xbox is sinch, and putting the matrix in is prety easy 2, just a lil tricky to get it aligned, but you'll get it in the end. the only reall bad thing is that if you move it around, to ftp it to your PC etc it could get misaligned, but then you just need to open up the xbox and realign it.

This is a 1.1 box... don't wait for a solid flashing green light, it will never come.
quick green, then red is what you're looking for
