On Your Chameleon Chip...
« on: May 31, 2003, 06:40:00 PM »

There seems to be a small chip labeled "000" bridging across 2 solder pads, one of them has a smaller chip also labeled "000" sitting in the center of it.

Here's a pic of it with the chip in question outlined:

Here's a pic of it without the outline:

Anyone know if this chip is supposed to be there? I couldn't see it on any of the pictures I saw, and my chameleon doesn't boot so it seems like it could be an error of some kind. Anyone else have any info on this?

*EDIT*
The pictures are huge, 1280x1024, so be warned if you're on 56k or the picture is taking a while to load.

Are you sure? On the one in Xbox-Scene's review, its not there. It's not there in the Xodus install guide either.

I see. I wasn't aware of people posting about this, and I really had no idea what I would search for, but I tried anyways. Oh well, I guess my problem lies elsewhere. That is kinda worse news...I thought I simply had to desolder that and my Chameleon problems would come to an end. Ah, well, back to the drawing board.

Mine isn't either. I'm really tired of messing with this thing, I think I'm just gonna try and fix the broken traces on the Matrix and wait until people have figured out whats wrong with these things.
