Chameleon Mod Chip
« on: May 30, 2003, 03:58:00 PM »

I'm planning to use this great chip because of it's great features. Just to mention I have current;y an un-modded xbox and the unit is a version 1.1 mainboard. I'm planning on upgrading the memory for Linux and such so will the chameleon mod chip support this. I'm going to get the extra ram from an old defective mainboard.

Also I'm thinking of using mode four. I've read the user guide but this is slightly complicated, I get the 2 X 256 & 1 X 512 soft access but what bioses do you recomend for this set up. I'm just slightly confused with the soft access, just clear it up for me if you can. I would like to use this mode so I can boot orginal mode using the Eject button feature. Just tell me whats an adequate setup of bioses to use this feature or if they need to be rezised what tools do I need to use?

Another question is that I'm happy to buy the mod chip of the recomended site (link on this site) but is there any UK sellers for this mod chip? It would save a huge amount of time and shipping costs.

Thanks in advance.

Mark.

LoL I see your point. Perhaps it's best not to add more ram then. It's I would like Linux to be faster thats all.
