Chameleon Is No1. Hands Down

I would hope it would be better.  It is out nearly 5 months after the Xecutor2.  Just don't get defensive when people start raving about the Xecutor3 in a few months.

It depends on what IGR you use.  EvoX's IGR will cycle the power and possibly change the active BIOS.  The X2 IGR does not cycle the power and simply punts you to the dash, so the same BIOS will remain active.

The controller reset mod also cycles the power and may change the BIOS.

Ricoh solder will alsways be in the scene
for installers to use

as you may have heard, solder less adaptors are designed for mods
to add on to the chip

this way installers are happy and so are users

hope that is clear enough and helps your question

anything has to do with solder is sucks, why don't they design all the chip solderless like have different version of modchip for different version of Xbox ?

Because solderless chips are for lazy bastards who aren't willing to learn a useful skill. Plus, they come loose if you move the box too much (in some cases, at all).

Seriously, anyone with the manual dexterity to operate a game controller should be able to operate a soldering iron. It's not all that dangerous if you've had some practice.

Plus, solder fumes smell soooo nice... *faints*

why do ppl start lame threads like this ?

first of all the software control - albeit good - is only useful for those who use evox - i.e. it forces you to be tied to one dash

what about those that dont use evox ?

our policy has always been to make sure our stuff works with all homebrew software - isnt this what the scene is supposed to be about ?

secondly - the guy who says solder sucks - i suggest you get educated.

thirdly the guy who says x2 is 5 months old etc - thats right - we're not 5 months behind we're 5 months ahead - thanks for pointing that out smile.gif

now enough of these my mod is best blah blah blah - I could jusst beat you down by telling you what X3 is about but I dont feel childish tonight. maybe tomorrow tongue.gif

Umm...evidently you were referring to me?  I hope you read what I said and didn't just skim over it.  I was pointing out that it is not far to swoon over Chameleon and be blown away by how much better it is than the X2.  "Holy shit, my Xbox is so much better than your PSone!"  The release times of the two different chip series are staggered, so it's never accurate to compare a new release to a chip that hasn't seen any improvements in many months.

Also, I don't remember saying you were 5 months behind.  blink.gif  Geez, Uber, get some sleep...you're starting to use fuzzy logic to the point of nasis.  laugh.gif

Solderless chips are also for lazy bastards who already have that useful skill.  I've never had a Matrix come loose and I've installed about a dozen for various people.  One of those travelled halfway around the world and back again, and the chip still hasn't moved.

If you've ever installed a PS2 modchip, you can very easily appreciate a solderless mod.

comparing installing a ps2 mod with an xbox mod is an absolute joke

very very poor example

I'm sure that with enough people having a Chameleon installed, that most authors will add software control to there apps.

Pinheader installs are the best, hands down. It's a piece of cake to solder and you can swap your chip freely when it's done. The only issue after that is D0 and that can be dealt with easily enough.

Uber, the X2 kicks ass. I'd be really interested to hear about X3.

As for chameleon, it looks cool too. I like the idea of software control, but the ability to add external (X2.1 style) switches would have made it THE killer mod chip.
