I would assume you could get a washer at just about any hardware store. A washer is a washer. I have a matrix, I don't recall the washer being "special" in anyway.

LOL, I E-mailed the company and here is the reply I got "You don't need the Star washer. If you want one, it cost 0.20 USD at a harware store."
So, Can I install it without one?

I too lost my washer, so I found a washer that was about the same size as the hole and used that. It worked great, I've had no problems with my Matrix chip.

Well I used just a regular washer that I found in my tool box and WOW THE MATRIX IS SOOOOOOO EASY TO INSTALL. Works perfect.

I dont use the washer, I just put a peice of scotch tape with a hole in it and it works fine

the washer was something spotted horse does. it stops the matrix from cvoming loose

go buy a 20 cent washer.. lol
