Ordered The Chameleon, Guess What I Got
« on: May 27, 2003, 09:23:00 AM »

I got mine yesterday and it is indeed a chameleon.  There's a picture of a chameleon on the back and the layout of the chip is just like all the chameleon pics post up.  I did notice however that "Matrix" is printed on the PCB board in small letters.

It says Matrix on a spot on the chameleon, because that is where you would plug the matrix on.

Actually, if you indeed got a Matrix for $25, that is a steal.  Tell them you will keep it, because it was their mistake, and have them charge you $25 for another chameleon.  Or, just order another chameleon for $39... still worth what you saved on the matrix.

Sell that Matrix to someone and order a Chameleon with the extra money, a Matrix for that price is a steal.

mellow.gif  I've been waiting this long for the chameleon.  What advantage is there to having the matrix as well?gift.gif  I have no problems with soldering.  I talked with easybuy2000 and after some fenagling, they are letting me come to their store to switch the chips (I live in Montreal).
But should I keep the matrix chip?  Even though it costs more, isn't the chameleon, on it's own, better?  blink.gif  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

FOr flashing TSOPS's, I would take the matrix any day.

Keep it.  Just tell them you want to walk in and BUY the chameleon at the price they offered it to you originally (take your receipt).  Tell them the dog ate the Matrix!

Well, it's definitely a matrix chip with the programmer.  But what is the point of keeping it?mellow.gif  I've been waiting this long for the chameleon.  What advantage is there to having the matrix as well?gift.gif  I have no problems with soldering.  I talked with easybuy2000 and after some fenagling, they are letting me come to their store to switch the chips (I live in Montreal).

I would definitely take the Chameleon over the Matrix.  No question about it.  If you plan on soldering, this is your best bit.  If you're going the pogo route, keep the Matrix and get a Chameleon to stack on it.

ohmy.gif , so I think they were being nice to me when they said I could come and exchange it personally.
They were very nice, biggrin.gif  made me check the the chameleon to be sure all parts were with it, and even sold me a programmer for cheap (seeing as how I didn't have enough on me to cover the real cost of it).  tongue.gif  Very pleasant experience.  I have seen all the posts that are pro/con easybuy2000.  Just like to say how happy I was, in the end.
