Went To Update Matrix Bios And Killed It?
« on: May 23, 2003, 07:04:00 PM »

Hello I went into to evox dash and went to flash bios after I had put the 4976 bios into th c:/bios dir. And changed to mode 4 it said erasing and locked up for thirty minutes until I turned it off/ I then attempted to use the LPC deal to re flash it and the matrix chip keeps flashing red and yellow? I have changed the battery and tried to diiferent LPC adapters and still same thing? and when I put the chip back into the xbox I get  error 16?

Please can anyone help?

What version of Evo-X are you using, because there was a bug in an older version to do with flashing where it would lock up once it got to about the halfway mark i believe.

Oh you could try getting an external programmer for it, and flash your chip that way.

Im not sure, i dont have a matrix, i built my own lpcmod. Hmm, try doing a search for other people who have had trouble with the matrix, or look in the bios forum about flashing it, im not sure. But you'll definatly find LOTS of people who have had trouble with your chip.

THanks I have been doing that an I have found one other person with the same exact  problem but no one seems to be able to figure this out. I think it is time to try and figure out how to make a chip? Do you have any recommend tutorials?

Okay thanks but where did you find this stuff at to build it? and how in the heck do you flash the bios on that chip? It is funny I work on laser printers with post script chips that look just like that one but they cost upto $1800.00 with the adobe post script code on them and the stupid chip only cost $2.50? LOL
