Question...If you do a pin header install, you still need to run a wire to the D0 point right?
My CC was charged the 20th, I ordered march 31st and hopefully mine ships soon!
Thanks for this gr8 guide!

Yes the D0 point is also needed with a pin header install,

I hope I can get pics of my install when I get my chips in,
I will be monitoring this thread for questions and i hope
i can answer most of them,

Pretty good FAQ. Pretty accurate, even answered a couple of my questions (and I thought I knew everything  wink.gif ).

I just wanted to add more Q&As.

Question: I don't like software control, I think it's for lazy people. Can I still install external switches to turn on/off my chip? Can I still install external switches to change BIOS (instead of using the internal dip switches)?
Answer: Yes, it will take a little bit more work, but you can add external switches to your XBOX case and if you wire them correctly, you will be able to control the XBOX with them and not be a lazy guy who uses software control. Personally though, I'm one of those lazy guys who actually enjoys this type of innovation :-P.

QUOTE (dzv @ May 23 2003, 04:57 AM)
I have a couple of questions...

How exactly would one program the CPLD?  Sounds to me like everyone would have to go and buy a CPLD programmer and hook it up to their PC, is that right?  Anybody know how much a CPLD programmer would cost?  Or maybe it's more simple than that.  I've never programmed a CPLD, so I don't know what's involved, but I'd like to hear from somebody who could clarify this.

ACtually a CPLD programmer is nothing but a connection from your LPT port and a few rezistors to the CPLD, Some reffer to it as a JTAG and is really simple to build and cost is under a dollar.

I am sure when the time comes and the use of the CPLD programmer is needed, designes and schematics will hit the scene.

As you said Stealth is not just ungroundning D0, because the chip is still grounded and in use but not pointing to the same bank/bios after bootup. The name Stealth reffers to the ability to hide the first bank you booted from.

I still think the name 'Stealth' was very misleading, but anyway...

I agree, the term is misleading. However, i do not ever recall team xodus ever saying that stealth would allow for xbl hacking. That is something the scene assumed on its own.

there's no way i'd ever give those guys my money.

To address that issue, EB2k was raided a few months ago for selling sat cards,

That was the main reason that everything slowed down for them.
I was cought up in the detays back then but it seems that since they
got their operation back together everything is running smoothly.

Its like the other day when I drove up to McDonnalds Drive Thru and they took
20 mins to serve my order, yes i was mad at first but then when i heard that
they had some problems in the back I calmed down and understood that it wasnt
really their fault.

smile.gif hope you understand what I mean. smile.gif

Also I remember Xodus apologising on their site www.xodus-chip.com
for being cought up in the eb2k raid, but they got through it and said
sorry about it. I beleive that kind of respect towards their costumers
and judgung by their support system, I would really like to do business
with them again.

Please stop being an apologist for EB2k.

They have ALWAYS had customer service issues, long before Team Xodus even got entangled with them (there was some debate over the wisdom of their teming when it happened).

I ordered a CD MP3 player called the "MP3Trip" back in '97 or '98 from them, and it took months and a ton of excuses to get it. In the end, I did get it, but I was not overly happy with the constant runarounds and such. EB2k has a VERY LONG HISTORY of this sort of thing. I don't believe they are dishonest to customers on purpose, but they are not the most professionally run outfit, and customer service is NOT a priority for them.

It's great the Chameleons are finally shipping after these long months.

Leave it be at that and stop spreading disinformation.

QUOTE (ravencry @ May 23 2003, 01:35 PM)
true, i admit they had past issues with some products. your experience prooves it,

I spoke from my personal experience and angle.

...and that is what is so frustrating for some people dealing with EB2K. When it's bad, it can get REAL bad, but other times, it's prefectly fine. This is what I meant by 'unprofessional'

Like I said, I'm absolutely positive they are not out to scam people (and we mods spent a great deal of time and effort when the Sat Raid happened trying to strike a balance here at X-S with so many disgruntled customers), but let's face it, they are less than honest, even today (the whole 'border inspection' thing was a load of crap, and everyone knows it).

If they would simply be honest about delays and stop juggling charges and shipments to keep their cash flow going, they'd probably double their business with the improved credibility.

I do wish them and Team Xodus well on Chameleon, and look forward to whatever else happens on the Xbox Development front.

Does the exclusive contract between Team Xodus and Easybuy expire? Teaming up with easybuy has to be the worst business decision ever made.
