Matrix Installation

I installed a matrix chip on my xbox, nothing went wrong.  My friends wants me to put a chip in for him so I did it last night, but the problem is that when in Mode 1, the LED starts off green then slowly changes to red without blinking.  Any idea as to what is wrong and how i can fix this?
