Matrix With Xbox V1.1

I have an XBOX 1.1 with a Matrix modchip. I have installed a matrix in a 1.0 with no problems as the holes that the pins sit in have metal contacts in them. With the 1.1, there are no metal contacts, just holes, is this how it is supposed to be? I have read several tutorials that state the matrix will work with the 1.1, and that while aligning, if the LED flashes green and then red it is aligned(which it does), but still no go, it just turns off and on three times. Please help. I'm using the D.6 EvoX bios.
