Matrix On V1.1 Xbox Goes On/off On/off On
« on: May 16, 2003, 05:00:00 PM »

Hey,

I have the same problem on my V1 and its because it doesn't have a strong connection.  Now my friend just got a V1.1 and i am not sure.  Are the install points the same as the V1's.

Thanks

The install point are the same for both the 1.0 and 1.1. Just make sure you have the right bios on the matrix chip befor you install it.

I tried both the Evox D6 bios and the Cromwell bios. I tried to flash them using 2 different programs to puth them on the matrix using the programmer that came with the matrix.

The Evox D6 and Cromwell didn't work. And I've tried the Evox D6, the D6 blue and the D6 red. So that makes 4 in total

If your xbox refuses to boot (3 resets / red/green light problem) it means that you LPC pins are misaliged but your d0 (g-spot) pin is aligned. This is because d0 is connected (and trying to override the original bios) and is 'calling' upon connections on the LPC but is not finding some which makes it reset.

OK, I finished about an hour ago and it finally works.

This afternoon I went shopping for a new solder-kit. After getting one I started out. I removed all of the pogo-pins, replaced everything by wiring and it works.

Seems to me when you have a xbox v1.1 and the holes were the pogo-pins must connect are empty you're better of soldering. Everthing is fixed now, en everything working like a charm.

thx everybody for the advice

my friend got his xbox last week  so what bios would be best to flash the matrix with before the install .

Thx
