my creditcard was finally charged for the Chameleon chips I order, but there is still no shipping date available and I went to the Xodus site and couldn't even find anything on how to install it.

That could mean that they may be considering shipping it soon. Have you called EB2K about your order?!?

I don't trust their website for shipping dates.

okay I called easybuy and the lady I was talking too (forgot to ask her name) told me that they should be shipping it out either tomorrow or Monday, since my visa was charged lastnight.  I will believe them when I have the chip in my hand!

Could another member call and see if you get a different response?

I got a generic 'we're charging credit cards at the moment so next week' reply.

I placed my order mid-March.

you know what confuses me

you all order - you all wait for weeks without any decent information

the company screws you around big time - you all complain every single day

then one day - maybe 3-4 weeks after you expected your delivery it arrives - and then you whoop and shout at how great it all is

wtf ever happened to good service where you order your item and get it delivered 1-3 days later ?

is this the disgustingly bad service that everyone has come to expect of the internet or something ?

btw my last post was not a bash - it was an observation that im seeing more and more people accept that this is the way business is conducted online

i'm sorry to have to break this to you guys but its bullshit - when you buy something you should expect delivery in 1-3 days MAX

this goes for pretty much anything online - unless its a pre order - but then of course they are not allowed to take payment and you would expect to be notified clearly on shipping progress

dont grow to accept sloppy customer service - you are the customer so demand more !

It's called Hype! They hype the product out for weeks so people do a ton a preorders then sit on them and hype it some more.  Bad marketing i must say! but thats how most modchip manufacturers operate, They announce the release as it being a couple of weeks when truthfuly the product is not going to hit the retail market for double that time (4 weeks or more).

Notice the chameloen price is now $38 as opposed to $25 ..lol!!

Wonder what the final retail cost is going to be?

Oh well glad the Xecuter 2 is available smile.gif

It's not bad marketing, its great marketing, everyone keeps pre ordering it. What it is, is bad business practice.

Demand??  Before you can demand, you have to have some leverage.  Before you can get leverage on an online company, you have to assume that they CARE.  Before that company can care, they need some sense of competition.  I think they realize that X2's are killing them, and it is almost as though they have no desire to please the customer.

So why did I order the Chameleon?  Simply enough, it is cheap... and I am patient.  Just like when I ordered my PDA from Dell.  Why did I wait 2 months for the thing, when they said it would ship in 2-3 days?  Because I was saving $70 by buying from them.

55 bucks for two 1M LPC is unheard of.

I have no problem playing with an unmodded XBOX for a few more weeks, even months if needed.  By then, my warranty will be void, and I will be all the happier to cut that seal on the bottom!

Uber... please remember that in the beginning, EVEN retailers carrying the Xectuer2 had problems fulfilling pre-orders (since there were SO MANY pre-orders). Many of my past customers who asked me to install a mod chip for them, had waited about three weeks before they received their Xectuer2 series chips.

By the way I did order the Chameleon for a few friends, and my credit card has NOT been charged yet. My current order status according to EasyBuy2000's website is "Pre-ordered."

no X2 retailer has ever taken pre orders - they were all told not to as we dont agree with it and never have. Running out of stock half way through the week due to unprecedented emand and a pre-order are two completely different things. You will also not that X2.1 is about to be released and there are no pre orders. You will also notice that X3 is almost ready - and again there are no pre orders. We dont announce a chip, take orders then release it 5 months later - thats just retarded. I would expect customers to be told of a price and a release date. If that release date is skipped then they should be informed. The second they are in stock orders should commence. I'm sure you'd all agree with this sensible practice.

another example of your clouded memory

if you note my post I was generalising about the state of online purchases - not talking about eb2k. if you are happy to wait weeks after something was supposed to be shipped to you - then more power to you ! But i for one would never expect that as a consumer.

In fact im amazed that anyone would accept this way of trading.

I bet when they raised the price people stopped canceling thier pre-orders, because who would want to miss out on such a "deal".  No one will cancel now due to bad service, cause if they want one in the future it will cost them an extra $10.
