How do I upgrade my Matrix bios to the new 4976.02.  It currently has the old evox bios on it.  I've tried to update it through the dash but that doesn't work.  I set the switches to write enable but still a no go.  The manual says something about using the dvd rom but doesn't explain.  I was hoping one of you could point me in the right direction as I'm currently in the dark and can't find any tutorials about flashing a matrix thats already installed on th motherboard.  I don't want to screw it up and have remove and reflash it with that crap ass programmer. blink.gif

Use your external programmer to program it. Or you can set it to mode 4 and flash it with Evolution-X dashboard.

do you get an error message? if so what is it?

in order to flash using evox dash you need correct entry in evox.ini

i.e.

[BIOS]

#
ROM             = "EvoX D.6",0xc349c2b047a3d6c2de2e1c10185ecf86
ROM             = "EvoX D.6ef",0x74c6235497f474bf88b54b3fc52a20b2
ROM      = "EvoX D.6 Pink,0xe70d0fdc544cbb37b1370519fadb7154
#
Flash      = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000
Flash      = 0x04d5,"FUJITSU - MBM29F080A",0x100000

#Flash      = 0x89a6,"SHARP - LH28F008SCT",0x100000,0x20,0xd0,0x10
#Flash      = 0x378c,"AMIC - A29002",0x40000
Current      = 0xe70d0fdc544cbb37b1370519fadb7154

you do not need the ROM entry to flash mod chip.

you do need the red line (as of my last post) in the evox.ini file to flash the matrix modchip using the evox dashboard.

taken from evox.ini explained here . . .

http://forums.xbox-s...ST&f=23&t=32875

ROM

These define different BIOS versions and their CRC (Cyclical Redundancy Check – for verification and the like [and that is as technical as I am getting on the subject]). The structure is as follows:

ROM = “<name of ROM to display>”,”<CRC of BIOS>”

example:

ROM = "EvoX 2.0",0x76fd88337b8d8c1f116f85f3984b98b6

Flash

Similar to the ROM parameter but this defines flash parts so these can be displayed as well. The structure is as follows:

Flash = (TBD),"<flash part manufacture – name>",<flash size>

example:

Flash = 0x01d5,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000

Current

Simply used to tell EvoX which version your BIOS is for display purposes
