I for one don’t under estimate MS, as soon as some were to make a chip that could go on live with a hacked bios. They would release some fix for it. I’m sure they would get the same damn unit and find out how they went around it… further more… if they find some games are missing checks on the DVD. That would be another sign someone is running some shit. There are so many ways that MS would not get Xlive killed. And to think something of this nature would is ridiculous. Not to mention all those people would still need live accounts =/

I too agree with Smokey and Xeero. Even with a stealth mode that DOES work, MS could easily switch to a CRC check of the bios, and with that poof, you'll lose your XBOX's ability to play on LIVE (of course you can try to replace the eeprom). I don't recommend anybody persuing a method around MS's XBLIVE protection unless they can create a full proof method of tricking the system, and that trick keeps in mind of future protections. Of course, nothing is full proof, and even if anybody does circumvent the protection, we will find some type of new protection will be implemented by MS.

Out of all seriouness, if you really want to play on LIVE that badly, BUY the game. You can often find sales on XBLIVE games (try www.salescircular.com).

one of the few times i totally agree with you heheh (j/k) smile.gif

maybe a boot from a bank loading a hacked bios in ram and then having a clean MS bios in another bank will help developers with patching the ram (in a new location) and getting live to checksum that part in ram so it can pass the hacked bios check

in other words, its there for developing, not as a stand alone feature (for standard users)

possible yes

but surley they should be explaining what the feature is if they are willing to take peoples money before hand ?

also have they said which features are no available if the chip is standalone ?

ive not seen anything posted - you'd probably know frek

actually no i dont know,

but by reading the review on x-s i can tell that when soldering the chip (stand alone) you can get all the features,
and by not sordering the front panel wires (optional) u dont get the power, eject, or both boot up methods
also for sure if you dont connect the T1 wire (a15) u cant access the tsop with a hacked bios

well i guess if you will install a solder method, why wouldnt u just install those wires while you're at it and have all the features

right?
