Flame bait.

I thought it was very clear to every one that Live and modchip can not be put together, like oil and water? And even if it's possible, BIOS/chip maker do not intend to make a chip/bios that would work with Live? Xbox Live is too good to even allow cheaters in, or allow cheap copies of games. Are some people really keen and waiting for this to happen, or it's just plain stupidity?

In my opinion, Xbox Live is already hacked,
but it is not available for public use!

Meanwhile, this is available only for V1.0 consoles,
because of a bug in the hardware that you want find in other versions,
and this is why I personally believe that M$ changed model...

Anyway I don't have access to Xbox Live to prove what I say,
but as more as you search,
this will be the only true that you gonna find...

Oooops...there I go, being skeptical again.

I'll keep an open mind, and outside of the ethical issues (and M$ coming down hard on the mod scene when it happens) of fooling XBL to play nice with mods, I think I'll just sit tight and watch what happens.

I do guarantee one thing: If this "Stealth mode" does NOT protect you from XBL mod detection, and Team Xodus does not make that painfully clear, it will be an utter disaster for them and the scene.

If anybody from Team Xodus is reading this, please tell us EXACTLY what Stealth Mode is all about - that is, what EXACTLY makes it useful, so newbies won't throw themselves off the XBL cliff like so many lemmings, based on a false assumption.

frm what i saw i thought the MS bios would be too big to fit on the chip WITH another bios anyway.

ie. i dont have the specifications right here, but wasnt the steal mode for 2 x 256 bios's yet the MS one is 1mb anyway, so how can it work?

The M$ BIOS is 256k X 4.

Same 256k BIOS repeated 4 times.

The only way I can foresee going online with a mod working is if you boot with the mod on, at which point it would the backup, then overwrite the hacked BIOS in cache with the MS BIOS.

Even then, this seems outside of the range of something a BIOS could do.  Seems like you would need independant code running in the background to toggle between the OEM and hacked BIOS stored in cache.

its not happening - deal with it

anyone who releases an xbl hack will kill xbl - it will be the single stupidest thing anyone can do

and if they did it its not for sales its to say hah we did it - then the aftermath is that everyone gets fucked in the ass from a horrible XBL experience

stealth is simple. Switches from one bank to another on bootup

apologies from stating the obvious but this is hiw they explain it - its quite clear to me

I for one don’t under estimate MS, as soon as some were to make a chip that could go on live with a hacked bios. They would release some fix for it. I’m sure they would get the same damn unit and find out how they went around it… further more… if they find some games are missing checks on the DVD. That would be another sign someone is running some shit. There are so many ways that MS would not get Xlive killed. And to think something of this nature would is ridiculous. Not to mention all those people would still need live accounts =/

If the game is missing checks, it's not going to boot with the mod off.

And for the record, I hope that no modchip developers are currently working on how to go on XBL with the mod.  I think it's a somewhat juvenile goal in the midst of all the other things mod chips can do.

However, it would be a handy feature for a mod to detect when someone is trying to connect to XBL with the mod on, then reset the Xbox with itself disabled.  This would at least prevent absent-minded but honest people from inadvertantly getting themselves banned.

I too agree with Smokey and Xeero. Even with a stealth mode that DOES work, MS could easily switch to a CRC check of the bios, and with that poof, you'll lose your XBOX's ability to play on LIVE (of course you can try to replace the eeprom). I don't recommend anybody persuing a method around MS's XBLIVE protection unless they can create a full proof method of tricking the system, and that trick keeps in mind of future protections. Of course, nothing is full proof, and even if anybody does circumvent the protection, we will find some type of new protection will be implemented by MS.

Out of all seriouness, if you really want to play on LIVE that badly, BUY the game. You can often find sales on XBLIVE games (try www.salescircular.com).

Yes, but what's the point of having a modchip switch the BIOS after boot?  Seems really dumb to me, or just a scheme to sell modchips on a lame new feature.
