QUOTE (jaxpunk @ Apr 29 2003, 08:55 PM)
Yes stealth mode would be shutting the chip off.  So that Live would not detect it, and ban your xbox.  So if you only run backups, and dont upgrade the hard drive it will be easy to just shut off the chip and play on live.  If you upgrade your drive, then thats a whole nother can of worms I wont go into.  But you can read up on it here:   biggrin.gif

I thought the bios was loaded to memory on bootup, so that even if you turn off the modchip after booting, the image is in memory, and this is what MS looks at?   uhh.gif

Unless you can overwrite that bios image in memory after bootup, but that will be hard to do once a game is already loaded, since the xbox runs in ring 0, they can still ban you if you run backups.

Or am I misunderstanding the question entirely? huh.gif

thanks
-------------Edit--------------
Actually Ubergeek,I think it should be stored in RAM since you cannot write to the ROM

another edit...
so with:
www.teamxecuter.com/flashx.zip
I can just edit my evox.ini file and get the same thin with my X2Pro ?   smile.gif

Hey, thats good news!! Team X-ecuter is probably probably pissed off, you can probably expect a response from them within the day about how crappy this chip is.

iMURDERER

LoL, exactly what I thought. No offense to Ubergeek, I personally don't know you or have I read many of your posts, but your team in the past has been known to post dirty comments.

For example, you guys had a personal attack on me once (it was an argument over whether or not you guys made money on modchips, I said you guys did make a profit while one of your representatives argued elsewise). It went as far as you guys posting some stupid comment on your main page about me.

Second of all, everybody likes to say Team XODUS makes false claims. I have yet to see Team XODUS do anyting Team Xectuer hasn't done. In fact, if you guys think back to the Xectuer 1, Team Xectuer proclaimed their chip to be a "1 wire" solution, only to give us a mod chip designed to be soldered to the motherboard and an additional wire. They mislead users to believe that the chip would be a "newbie" solution. Team Xectuer had also delayed the shipment of the X2 series mod chips (or at least retailers of the chip delayed their shipments from ETA dates because they had received no chips).

So if you really look at it, both teams had stretched the truth.

Once again to restate my position, as an installer I've seen a lot of chips and installed many chips. I've been tracking the scene since the day ProjectX released a load of XBOX games (even though we - the scene - had yet to see a mod chip at that time). I also have to say that by far my favorte mod chip has been the X2 series, but I don't automatically rule out competition. Competition is always healthy, and I STILL don't understand why everybody in this forum is an Xectuer fan boy (bitch).

i've been in the scene since day 1

have all the tools since they where released.

since install chips and such (since enigmah and x-tender)
all customers have been asking for various chips. but 90% where matrix requests because it was the first no solder.
then for a bit the X2 was in the list but in small requests due to a few reasons (a few delays and combo of pricing of pogos + chip), but now since the announcement of the chameleon, i've been getting more requests for that and matrix chips ever since.

Yesterday was mad. that review psuhed alot to request it even more!
its not that other chips arent standning up to it, but it is also the price and new stuff it has.

One of my requetsts was because it has a blue LED ! (i only notcied that in the review after the request)
Other because of the dash controls, its building a demand day by day

So my point is,

all chips are good (except that idiotic xelixis) but you have to take into account the all arround benefits
it would give the general user .

my personal opinion is that the Chameleon will get a big share in the market (like the matrix did)
once its out...

Does anyone know whether the chameleon will own up to the claim that it will be solderless?  I don't know if that means that a pogo pin version/adapter will be available in the future as an add-on or if what they're referring to is using it as a matrix add-on?   I noticed that the review doesn't mention solderless as a viable installation method - except with use of the matrix. Sound like smoke & mirrors...  can anyone see clearly?

Doesn't sound like smoke and mirrors to me, the impression that I get is that it will be available in the future  - in the same way that the pogo pin adapter was released for the X2.

If your really looking for a solderless solution right now then get an X2lite Plus.  Otherwise I'm sure the adapter will be released someday but I wouldn't hold my breath for it!

I agree... I think Team Xodus will have a olderless adapter out, and probably soon. They likely have the supplies (and their Matrix flash chips supply might be running low, as those CheapMod '020a' 256k chips had a finite supply, last I heard) of pogopins and the infrastructure in place to make adapter boards.

Likewise, we'll probably see see a 1.2 version of the pogopin adapter before/if we see a 1.2-solderless version of the Matrix.

Didn't try that yet though.

About Xlive and stealth mode , as said above , the bios is also saved in memory , so Xlive will probably be able to detect it anyway.
Stealth can be used by developers (boot with first bank and give xbox programs access to the 2nd bank ... they might be able to use it for some things)

well team xodus hasnt really done anything - its "team" evox on this one wink.gif hehe

and regards to xecuter1 - it was 1 wire - there was no misleading, no pre orders, no con, no bullshit

it worked - was the first lpc mod and has spawned all the other lpc mods

X2 was NEVER given a release date - only an ETA by us - it was retailers who gave dates

I have no idea why you ppl speculate on stuff like this - are you bored or something ?

I dont mind posts like these bro - only as long as you post fact and not something you think is correct

for anyone to say we'd be pissed off is childish and lame - we have all these features and more for a long time now - our beta testers and scene freinds know whats coming very soon, some real fresh ideas and development never tried before. But no announcements and no misleading comparison tables on this one. Its ready when its ready and will be shouted about when its finished

oh btw - those project x games - well the very first (doa3) was booted using my code smile.gif

That the development on this project is mostly evox influenced - in fact how could you even say it isn't with all the intergrated evox dash / xodus hdl functions ?

They've gone from basic pic chip developers (12c508 on the matrix was the only coding)  to advanced VHDL and XBE coders in the space of a couple of months - which is about the time the Matrix Inside logo started to appear on evox dash.

Im not bashing - its all good fun - the mod looks nice, and it doesnt really matter - it was a "joke dig".

It's about time that someone else developed some good hardware - Xecuter and Bioxx have been the only ones doing any real developing (from a retail perspective) - now PC Bioxx has gone a little quiet its nice to have something to push us on further

whats up I'm not allowed to have an opinion - even if it is in jest ?  smile.gif
