You get this when the Device is not write enabled.
The raincoat.conf has all the device flash ID's in already, however if you wish to check it has open your copy of raincoat.conf in notepad on your PC.
I suggect you check the soldering of the write enable jumpers on your board.

thanks psidoc, ill try to redo the jumpers tonight. I had a feeling thats what that meant but thought id ask.

couple of questions I need help with:
1) does the bios.bin file come with the save game? If it does,
2) is it the cromwell bios?
3) can I change to a bios of my choice before or after?
4) any limitations on what bios I can use? (version, size etc.)
5) does this work on the Platinum Hits version?

Is there FATX Support for linux yet? if there isnt why isnt someone working on it harder? I have no other modded xbox to write a memory card, are there memory card drivers for usb somewhere? I tried the linux xbox kernel and 2.4.20 mix to access fatx, it didnt work, im stupid with linux, open to any suggestions, dont want to solder homebrew on my shiny new xbox mobo

was searching and found a version of iso-linux that has xbox filesystem support, pretty cool its on an illegal site so i cant post it. pm me if you need info if anyone wants it

bios has to be the same size, in the same directory, and must be names bios.bin just like the original... I am pretty sure it comes with Evox D.6 though.
