Hi All!
I have been following the development of the Linux Raincoat and Matrix stuff on this board the last couple of weeks but it's a bit confusing.
Could someone post link to concise tutorial for doing this.
With the mulitbios points pic's ect....
I get confused between the posts that use the memory card,.... or doing it without a mod chip ect....and couldn't find a current tutorial on main page for this.
I was at best buy today and they have the xbox with the two games plus extra game (007 game) and extra controller for 199 ... so I'll pick up another tomorrow.
P.S. Just the Facts please ... don't flame me ...and don't add anything other than the FACTS! Tired of the kiddie's always adding their BS!

Just got back from Best buy ... bought the console with 2 games and controller.... plus they throw in extra controller and 007 Agent under fire ...all for $199 US ....
Now what is next!
Many of us with Matrix chips probably want to Tosp 1.1 and 1.2 boxes .... can you give directions please.
I have looked thur this board and Hacker board ... and it's confusing....

I have evo x on xbox and 120 gig hard drive intalled already ... regualr matrix is working fine... and my new xbox is Version 1.1 ...

1. Open xbox and solder write enabled jumpers...there are 2 one on top of motherboard
and one underneath(see article: http://www.xbox-scen...icles/tsop.php)

3. Make sure your PC is on a 192.168.0.* subnet

2. Use a modded xbox with Evox to copy the save to the memory card

3. boot unmodded xbox to dashboard...copy the save to the HDD

4. Load 007 and load the savegame from HDD

5. open dos prompt type :telnet 192.168.0.64

6. username: root

7. password: xbox

8. type cd ../../media/E/UDATA/4541000d/000000000000/raincoat

9. type ./raincoat -p bios.bin

10. finished

...loaded 007saveraincoat onto memory card ... starting with the folder labeled 4541000d and opening to other folders
I will use the 10 gig hard drive that came with xbox to do this that is virgin ... so I don't have to worry about anything else....
after it flashes ...
I'll turn off the xbox and swap hard drives ... with the one that has evol on it ... so it works the regular way.

I will use the following IP address:

IP address 192.168.0.100 .... is this correct
subnet mask (what should this be)
Default gateway (what should this be)

... just to be clear.

Also I screwed up one of my 100 gig xbox hard drives by locking it ... but when I reboot xbox doesn't work with that drive.... i swapped it for my other 100 gig hard dirve and xbox works fine...
What do you recommend to fix it ... I'm looking everywhere ... online ... forums, searches ....
If my xbox recognized it ... i could unlock it ... but it doesn't ...and it doesn't work in pc either.

The IP address can be anything, as long as you use a similar IP address on your computer (Ex: 192.168.0.10), The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway should be your IP address with a final digit of 1 (Ex:192.168.0.1)

That should work just find for ya as long as you have the subnet mask and the default gateway the exact same, and the ip address only have the last digit changed.

I just did this with a v1.1 xbox under winxp. Works great! Thanks for the tutorial.

My only problem was that my network was setup as 192.168.1.xxx, it took a little while to figure out how to change it to 192.168.0.xxx in my router settings.

I'm just pointing this out so the next guy has an easier time!

The person who Posted the Correct way ... has it the Correct way ... but I didn't see the SPACE!

Luckily I didn't have the Sharp TOSP ... which does have an extra wire ... I had the ST one ... which is just the two points!

P.S. the hard thing for me to decide is whether I should cancel my order for 2 chameleons .... I don't think I will need it ... right?

ive done the telnet and I get
"unknown device read only??? man=0x09, dev=0x00
try adding the device ID to /etc/raincoat.conf"

is that normal?

You get this when the Device is not write enabled.
The raincoat.conf has all the device flash ID's in already, however if you wish to check it has open your copy of raincoat.conf in notepad on your PC.
I suggect you check the soldering of the write enable jumpers on your board.
