Matrix Eats It
« on: April 24, 2003, 08:19:00 PM »

ok it shouldnt be this hard to install a fukin matrix. Ive seriously been trying to align it for more than an hour or 2. Ive clean the pins several time and even tried very carefully to scrape the area around the d0. It just wont align i cannot get the blinking green. Forget about that soldering fix that guy did im not good at soldering shit. I think ill break my matrix.

i have 1.1 board

QUOTE (dzv @ Apr 24 2003, 10:42 PM)
With a v1.1 Xbox, you won't get a flashing green light.  When I install on a v1.1, I don't even use mode 1.  Firstly, I flash the MatriX with a noani blue BIOS.  Then, I just leave the Xbox off, line the chip up, and turn the Xbox on.  If the chip is aligned, I'll immediately see a big blue X, so I turn it off and secure the chip.  If not, I turn the box off, re-align, and try again.  It's a little tedious, but I've got it every single time.  The noani blue BIOS helps smile.gif  Also, I always fill the LPC points on a v1.1.  If you haven't already done that, I highly recommend it.

Very good Advice, I could not have said it better myself.

I enjoy the color bios because you can see it then, you could just look the for Xectuer logo too though.  I do not know the color that you should get on the chip because I do not have a 1.1 but keep playing with it.  You will get it.

First time I aligned my Matrix it took me about an hour.  Once you do it a couple times you shouldn't have any more problems.

yea ive filled in the lpc holes and screwed the matrix down... i used the xbtool to change the color of my xecuter2 4096 bios to blue so that i  would be able to tell right away. As of now my chip is in and its doing the thing were it starts up then shuts off 3 times and results in nothing. Im about done with this chip.

Don't give up... just take a break. Everyone has some trouble with this chip the first time around. No real suggestions here, they've all been thrown out at you. Maybe you could drink some  beerchug.gif 's and try again  laugh.gif

If you are getting the on off 3 times it could be that you had a bad flash to the matrix. Did you flash it with the flasher that came with the chip? I had this problem and it took me forever to figure it out, try a differant BIOS on the flasher and make sure your LPT settings are correct
