you all in this forum are life savers... I couldn't get my matrix to flash at all, and today I pressed really hard and held it and it worked!! Thanks so much!!!

Have you tried firmly pressing and holding the chip in the programmer and the programmer into the LPC port while flashing? I know it sounds crazy but this has resolved problems for many in the past. Press the whole time with a good amount of pressure.
