Well it looks like you have a little problem.  the matrix chip will not work with v1.2 xboxs without soldering it in.  Thats because ms changed the do point.

Just out of curiosity.... why would you want d0 on the top of the mobo gone?? It's not hurting anything just sitting there so what's the big deal? Also you're not the first one to come up with how to make the matrix work on a 1.2. I couldn't tell if you were joking or not... I hope you were.

he wants it gone the connection doesnt go to anywhere else but the wire that hes connecting to the alt d0 and i also sugest you find a tutorial for 1.2 cuz if the regular d0 is changed then the alt would too?? sounds logical to me....

alt was not changed

and yes the Myst1x Matrix Method was a joke...smile.gif

Thanks again for all your feedback & answers.  I must admit that I'm relatively ignorant to soldering (which explains the matrix choice), but I am definitely willing to learn.  I've messed around with it a bit back in high school, but I'm a bit hesitant to just jump in and start soldering this xbox.  Does anyone know of any good tutorials/resources on how to do it properly with a v1.2 board?

Thanks again for all of your help.
