mine (xbox1.1/matrix) still not work, will give it another try 2morow. the lpc holes of my xbox aint filled with solder tho. and my screw aint fit well anymore. guess there's nothing left for me then soldering the chip on the mobo.

btw: last time i plugged the chip into the mobo and i booted my xbox restarted 3 times and then the led was blinking red/green, i supose this means the LPC pins aint connect well to the LPC holes or the d0 aint connect well to the chip.

ow yea, testing mod in mode 1 (testmode) doesnt work on xbox 1.1 cuz the led on the matrix doesnt blink green. when the chip blinks green for about a second and then turns blinking red u can assume the chip is connected well.

This is how I got my matrix to work with my v1.1

Below are instructions, if they are unclear let me know.

1) Solder very thin piece of wire (I used CAT5 cable) to the d0 point on the board (be very careful, it isn't as hard as it looks though). Solder the other end of the wire to a switch, then take a piece of wire from the other terminal on the switch to one of the xbox mother board screws. This will earth the d0 and tell the xbox to search for a BIOs at the lpc.

2) Solder a piece of thin wire to each of the points on top of the pogo pins on the matrix - ie: do not solder to the pogo pins but direct to the matrix. You do not need the d0 pogo pin on the matrix so don't solder anything to that.

3) Solder each of the wires to the corresponding point on the LPC, I filled the holes on the lpc with solder first, then heated the solder and pushed the wire through the hole to make sure it was a really good joint.

4) One all these points are soldered in your matrix should work perfectly, mine did! Remember when you flick the switch the d0 will no longer be earthed and the xbox will uses its original bios!!

If you add a switch to the wire from the d0 you can diable the modchip and run the original bios for live purposes.

If you don't plan to use live then don't include the switch just earth the d0 directly

You can connect it to the screw that you use to keep the matrix in place.

There is a very helpful tutorial for getting past broken screw problems. I'd actually recommend this as the #1 install method for any pogo type adapter. The parts will cost you less than 50 cents at the hardware store. My last 3 installs with this method are solid as ever - that thing could survive a hand grenade blast and still be in place.

Oh yeah, the pogo pins work fine on 1.1 boxes - just gotta make sure they are making contact with the outside of the holes... you have a bit of play once you've made contact with the D0, so you might want to get the pogos a little off the center of the LPC holes so that it is making contact with the outside edge metal around those holes. Get some good light and patience...

i know can but i want to do that ^ method for a perfect installation
