Have you tried various 9V batteries of different age?

I found my programmer only worked with a half used Duracell... strange but no other battery would work. Even then it only worked on one out four PC's that I tried. (Athalon with SiS chipset)

good luck

Try to see if you can find some trustworthy person, perhaps on these forums, to send it to.
Maybe they will have better luck flashing it for you.
How's that for revolutionary?
I guess if you get desperate enough, it's worth a shot.

If it doesn't try it on a pentium 4 machine.

What difference would the processor make?  It is most likely the OS that matters, the processor has nothing to do with it.

I had a hard time flashing my matrix also, tried everything squeezing, batterys, everything. I found that if you licked your thumb and place it on the programmer side and squeez lightly it will flash.  This method worked for me on 2 diff PC both P4 with 2 diff mb on both of the pc.

HAHAHA
easy buy is horrible and overpriced
i bout my matrix for 51 w/ shipping from www.hackershardware.com...(44 w/out shipping) i dont know how much ez buy charges for shipping but either way hackershardware is a better deal wink.gif

I bought mine from hackers hardware, still waiting on it and no track given! I think I got ripped from them...they never respond to email either...sorry for off topic but just had to when I saw that mentioned.

So back on the topic...

Did you connect the programmer right to the printer port? Then flash it from there?

Well I finally got my matrix programmed on the 6th computer I tried.  A duron 1300 with an msi motherboard. I had to turn the delay about half way up and it took about 20 minutes.  With some more work I finally got the system to boot my install dvd with evox and upgraded my factory hard drive with evox. I rebooted a few times fine but when I put the cover on the chip moved and hasn't worked since.  Pogo pins are great in theory but I can't get them to be stable.

I'm trying my mini x from www.the-console-corner.com now. I have a 1.1 board but I don't know if the chip is even compatible. Does anyone know anything about it?

I don't think you need to flash the mini-x.  I'm not reallly sure what is supposed to come on the chip.  my question was what version of the xbox does it work with. I'm pretty sure I have a  1.1 xbox.  It spins up 3 times then starts flashing red on the third attempt.  I've tested all the connections trhough the board and I have continuity.  I took a file to my 32 guage wire so it would fit in the d0 hole and make a good connection.  Any ideas?

I had this problem too (with matrix) and was using the D.6 bios. found out that I actually had to use the *2.5* bios. It's the only way I could get the mod to work. After that though I think upgrade to D.6 or 2.6 or 3.6 should be fine. Haven't tried it out yet though.

also, the three reboot thing might be because your wire is shorting something. I found info on that on google using "Christmas tree lights" and "xbox" in my search.
