If I didn't mind sodering to my board I wouldn't have bought the Matrix in the first place.

exactly!  i don't understand the point of buying no soldering mod chips only to solder?!  i guess as long as ppl are happy with them.   beerchug.gif

honestly now. so the matrix has a small flaw in it. so to fix it people solder the point. ok so no solder turns into one wire. cmon its not like you have to run 50 wires or anything.

agreed...the matrix is a great chip, soldering 1 wire doesn't take away from that...

Yeah, but that 1 wire is the most difficult part of the solder install.   The other wires take all of about a couple minutes combined.  If you can solder the d0 on the matrix, save a few bucks and do a solder install.

I am no way bashing the Matrix, but if you are going to solder the most difficult point of a solder install anyway, why not just do a solder install.

If you can't solder or don't want to solder at all, get a Matrix.

difficult? the d0 is hardly difficult. and the alt is even easier. 20 seconds and either point is done. i got a matrix because at the time, thats what was offered. i was an early adopter of the matrix, before the x2 lite was even out.

so soldering one wire is hardly a big deal ot me. but i do agree with your points.

I didn't call it difficult... I have modded countless XBOXes all using the topside d0.   I just said most difficult because if there is any point in an XBOX install that would cause people problems, its the D0.

For me and many others, it is so simple but yet there are tons of people posting how they can't get the wire to stick or they lifted the trace or burnt it or god knows what else.

So, you think it is easy and I think it is easy... but it is definitely harder (or less easy) as those huge LPC points.   All of them take a fraction of a second but the D0 just requires a steady hand and some knowedge of what the heck you are doing... all of which can be found on this site.
