does the chameleon come pre-flashed?if not it's a standalone chip without a programmer cuz i think they'll not include one and you would have to buy one so it's not as cheap as it sounds...

We dont know yet...

Recalling the First Xodus chip and its announcements, they released info partially
on their site and all the questions where answered that way.

I myself cant wait to see more, customers are asking for it already!

I too want answers regarding the flashing of the chameleon, will you be able to flash it by attaching it to the Matrix and using the Matrixes flasher?
I doubt it because it uses the same pins used for flashing as it does for attachment, so how (apart from using evox) do you get a 1mb BIOS onto it?

LA!

Sorry for starting a new thread.

But I know that easybuy has stoped all the satellite business and only sells mods and accessories so the costumers they get are only modders smile.gif

Doubtful, condsidering eb2k is supplying it and probably don't want to supply chips w/ illegal BIOS, since this is how they handled the Matrix.  Another option they have is to flash is w/ the linux BIOS and an ozflash disk can be used to flash the chip.

they had a whole legal post when they first launched

i guess its the best way to go (don tknow how xecuter gets away wiith openly selling illegally preflashed  bios chips)

There WILL be, in the near future, the ability to play modded with XBL. It's enevitable (sp?).

The question is... will it be abused or not

as for the Chamaleon, If Live support is supported, then we'll have to see

Well as we all know evox have been working very closely with xodus recently.

The new chameleon add on for matrix now has various multi bios switching modes (as innovated by yours truly hehe) but they announced a new stealth feature which was of interest.

Everyone is asking what this is - and they aren't saying so here's my best guess

They obviosuley control d0 by a pic (it was found out later onboard "tsop" flashing was possible with a 4034 hacked bios to enable load of hacked rom then divert hardware routines to the onboard flash rom)

seg000:00093B00 mov eax, 'EvoX'
seg000:00093B05 mov ds:0, eax
seg000:00093B09 jmp loc_9024C

OK so let's imagine the stealth technology is to load a hacked rom and then divert to onboard. hence the hacked rom is a complete new work based on the original evox_tssop_flash bootloader complete with all the current hacks - and for it to work correctly d0/t1 needs to be controlled correctly (very easy with a pic of course and is exactley what the chameleon is advertising)

So its also possible this bios will only work on the chameleon due to its new controller functions

The bad thing about this is what about all the homebrew ppl who would want to use this ? I may be wrong in assuming this but if i'm not then isnt evox going against their ethos about everything being for free ? Sure we all sell hardware - but we do nothing you cant do manually yourself - we just provide pro products to make life easier for those that dont want to homebrew.

I'll release this myself as a homebrew hardware project anyway - any pic control commands are kids stuff, so most of you should be able to have fun, plus of course Xecuter have a complete set of next generation BIOS features that we promised you last year. We told you we would eventually break the 512k barrier and oh boy have we  - so its only fair to say that Xecuter BIOS users - or even Complex Bios users may want this new Stealth feature.

We'll analyze the new evox bios with interest and of course make sure the stealth function is available to everyone not just xodus users.

Now why a Stealth function you all ask ? - XBL hack maybe ? 9if yes then it will be a diastor - many of us hope that an XBL hack never sees the light of day), it could be simple anti mod detection for future titles ? who knows ?

Good work to EvoX all the same as its always good to be thinking of new ideas.

We will certainley enjoy you analayzing the new hacks we're about to release too - see if you can solve how we did it

of course this entire post is just a theory - im probably talking out of my ass tongue.gif

i can seen ubergeek peeing himself trying to find out what xodus and evox are up to.

one this is for sure though... xodus will never release a chip that will require just an evox bios
the stealth feature seems to look like a hardware controller (not a bios)

wink.gif

you dont think evox are "peeing" them selves with all the new shit that x2 have coming out

but who cares its all free right ?

I thought his post was very constructive and gave an excellent insight into how it may work - one thing you should know (im sure you know SOMTHING about xbox right?) is that a stealth feature requires a stealth bootloader - xodus are not coders - you know this, i know thiss, everyone knows this. i think you give them a little too much credit I really do.

why are guys like you so anti-xecuter obi wan - they give you the original cracks to the xbox - they crack the dvd - they offer good mods

whats your issue ?
