New Matrix Problem
« on: January 13, 2003, 07:37:00 PM »

Just took it back out, and tried to flash it with the complex 4627 bios.  Now I get an error erasing chip message...

I had the same problem flahing the matrix. I found out that if you licked your thumb and squeezed the programmer to the chip it will flash with the frist try. Or at least it worked for me.

In frustration I just gave my xbox a good whack, and the problem stopped.

I guess it was the alignment as senator mentioned (thanks).

Just would like an explanation why the light stayed green if anyone knows, thanks.

OHH and I suggest you do a pin header mod to the matrix to avoid this in the future coz it will keep happening... mad.gif

Yes, a longer screw will help with the alignment issue.  Use a #6 x 1/2" sheet metal screw.

props to you bro biggrin.gif

it was because of your excellent site that i use longer screws now, why couldn't easybuy just ship a longer screw biggrin.gif
