biggrin.gif  For once upon a time everyone was a nOOb..Just wish some people would use the search function a bit and do their own research on some questions first..Before they post.... They would be better for it in the long run..
EXPERIENCE....I don't mind helping those who have lost sleep over something and tried their arse off, but nuff said YOU KNOW.. beerchug.gif

Error Code 7 Question
« Reply #3 on: December 28, 2002, 05:53:00 PM »

Hi, I just wanted to thank Senator for his reply. I went through his checklist and found the problem.  As it turns out, the it was glaringly simple so I think I'll save myself the humiliation and not mention the specifics.  Everything is fine now; I just burned THPS4 on CDRW and it is running perfectly.

Must run, I'm late for the Paklid mixer. Thanks again Senator.

QUOTE (CorneliusTheSimian @ Dec 27 2002, 03:16 PM)
I'm have the exact same set up as the person who originally posted this topic...I get the blue XBOX logo/bootup screen which then goes into the normal xbox dashboard. When I try and play a backup of anything...game, movie, music, anything that is on a cd-r, I get the "disk not compatible" message. It's the same message I would get if I stuck a cd-r in without the modchip. All regular games seem to be working fine.
Am I missing something? I flashed it with Evo2.5. I get the blue boot logo. LED on the modchip is green. Everything appears to be fine, except that it won't recognize cd-r's.
What am I missing?

/*edit*/
I just wanted to add that I really don't know much about this modchip stuff. My brother in law (who doesnt actually own an xbox) said I should get a modchip. He's the one that told me where to get it. He gave me the Evo25, which he got from a friend. According to my brother-in-law, if I flashed the chip with the Evo25 and installed it properly, I should just be able to put in a cd-r of a game, movie or whatever and I should be good to go. After reading through some posts in this forum, I don't believe that is true. I don't have an Evo Dashboard or anything like that showing up on my xbox. It's still the same old xbox dashboard. The only noticable difference that I can see is the big blue X on the boot up screen, which still says "M$".
It seems like I'm missing something...I just don't know enough about this stuff to know what exactly it is that I'm missing.

Your trying to play CDR ????
This depending on your DVD drive may not be possible...
If it's a thomson you will struggle.....Try the CD/RW discs they will or should work, sounds like your media is incorrect.... biggrin.gif
The mod chip doesn't actually allow you to play CDR it's the DVD drive. C how you go....
