Making A Matrix

if i get all the parts and put it together can i use the programmer to prgram it?
just wondering what the pic chip is?

                                    The PIC is most liekly used for the alignment LED thingy... and perhaps the mode management.

sorry i forgot to say i already have a matrix and the programmer so id just need to make the part that goes into the xbox itself
