There are many here who would say that pogos are no good and you should get a solder mod, but I have no problems with my Matrix.  It does everything I want it to do.

As far as Live and the Matrix, you will need to lock the hard drive, and you will have to disable the Matrix and only log onto live with an original game disk.  So you can't play live games off the hard drive.  To disable the Matrix you have a few options
-solder an external switch to the Matrix
-open the Xbox up and switch the mode everytime you want to play live
-use swap mode

i think the matrix is great but you really cant travel with it much. If you plan to move it around i would go solder all the way.

I have a matrix mod-chip and have never had any problems with it except if i move it alot so

to repeat what they said if your going to move youe xbox around go for a solder chip

I move mine around all the time without any problems; the trick is the bigger screw.

Thanks so far.

Is there a difference between 2MB and 8MB cache?
can i see it at loading or any other recognizable
difference which makes the 8MB cache worth it.

yes now ive bolted the matrix in only a serious drop would move it
maplins in uk sell half inch bolts with nuts and washers for 99p a pack of 20
ididnt need to take the xbox mb out i just put the nuts on the oversized screw then screwed it in normaly my matrix sits tighter than a fleas ass i also threw away the matrix washer and used the maplins ones they are thicker but better
