Matrix Installation Problems On A 1.1 Box
« Reply #15 on: December 17, 2002, 03:23:00 PM »

I had the same problem as you on my v 1.1 Xbox. I had originally loaded EvoX 3.6 on the Matrix chip but it wouldn't boot EvolutionX. I also had problems with the green LED blinking on test mode, then I put it in ON mode and it would reboot the Xbox 3x times. But then I uninstalled the Matrix, cleaned the board area and Matrix area with alcohol, re-burned the Matrix with EvoX D.6 and reinstalled it. After that, it worked instantly. I would recommend running D.6 bios to try it out and even keep if you want it. Works great for me. Also before you reinstall the Matrix, clean the board and Matrix contact points with alcohol.

I am a matrix installer and i have done about 24 v1.1 boxes until now.

This is how I do it.

No solder is needed.

Flash the chip (Evox D.6)
Fit the chip on the holes... (all 3 alignment holes come to perfect place)
Go to mode 1 and power on
You should see a Split second of Flashing Green and then it will go to Flashing Red
(This is how the Tester mode acts on v1.1 boxes ONLY)

Everything else is like v1.0
I switch to mode 2 and voila... a moded v1.1 in no time.
