Matrix Mode You Leave It In?
« on: December 12, 2002, 05:40:00 AM »

I leave it in Mode 4, so I can reflash my BIOS anytime.  I don't know why so many people are scared of Mode 4.  If you have a bad flash, you will just have to take it out and reprogram it with the programmer.  Is that worse than having to take the Xbox apart everytime you want to flash it and change the Dip switch mode?

I say if you change your BIOS often like I do, leave it in mode 4.

Just to see if anyone tried this, is'nt it possible to change the dip with a piece of plastic (or something like that) wich is small enough to pass through the ventilation holes?

I just love my external switches.

And, most of the time it is in mode 3.

I added external switches as Col.Havoc did.  So I can switch between the modes as I please without cracking open the box.  Shit, yesterday I changed bios about 10 times to see what all the new versions were about.  But I keep it in Mode 2 for the most part unless I am flashing the bios.  I have no desire to get LIVE so Mode 1 is pretty much useless for me.

I put a Black "door" type thing on it, i just swing it open and change it wite a tiny headed scredriver.  doesn't look too bad and it works, better than always takin the damn thing apart. i could make a tutorial for you guys (if mods want me to), its a lot easier than a switch.

thanks,

mode 3 here , I don't see any reason to flash the bios all the time [ if it works then leave it alone - unless some Great feature is released ] . A single external switch to change from mode 3 to mode 4 is something that I am thinking about doing however [ I see no use for mode 1 & 2 when mode 3 can do both ] .

I love my external switches as well.  I just play in mode2 and flick one switch to get to mode1 and play on live.
