Noob: X-ecuter Vs. Matrix
« on: December 09, 2002, 10:42:00 PM »

okay, i was looking at the modchip link and compared aladdin to xecuter, but i was curious. What does it mean when it says-"Flash Upgradeble with PC via LPT-no & Flash Upgradeble with Xbox software-no" ...im trying to run games from new hd, will the xecutor modchip hold me back from doing this? what does it mean?

and for the matrix situation. It said it works for all xbox's(i have a 1.0), i can still get it right? if yes, do i have to do anything just to make it applicable for the 1.0 xbox?

thanks

Try it.... jump in front of your Xbox, naked, except for your raincoat, and flash it.

Sometimes the best knowledge comes from experience.

As for Bios, haven't you ever watched A&E and listened to that Peter Graves guy?

Flashing is the term use to program the Flash chip with a BIOS. A BIOS (Basic Input Outpu System) is a software that handles overall device operation and all communication between an application (i.e., games...etc) and the hardware. I couldn't explane it more in a layman's term.

Note that Matrix doesn't come with a BIOS. You have to find a BIOS (don't ask where to find one, please) and Flash your chip with it in order for it to work. You can install the Matrix anyway you want but it will never work without a BIOS. Sample BIOS would be Evox2.X, Evox3.6, EvoxD.6(?), Xecuter1, Xecuter 2 series...and a whole lot more. Perform a BIOS search on this forum and it should yield more results than you can handle.
