QUOTE (NVShacker @ Dec 6 2002, 04:48 PM)
I was wondering if anyone could help me get my matrix tightened after the internal stuff for the screw has been stripped.

Please do not tell me to discard the matrix and tell me to solder another chip, I spent $59 + Overnight shipping on this damn thing, I want to use it plus the fact that I can't solder...

Anyways any help would be appreciated.

BTW I read the tutorial on bolting it but that did not define exact dimensions ect.

                                    How bout using a bigger screw ?

Do a search on these forums and many posts of people that did just that will pop up.

As I was waiting in line at the hardware store to buy 3 #6 screws I realized something.

I was about to pay for something to use ANOTHER thing that I dont plan on paying for...... {wierd}

So, As I was looking at the screws, I had realized that I was already in the outside of the store; driving home in a car that wasnt mine...... {weirder}

When will the madness ever STOP!!!!

Now if I can only find out how to get free electricity......

the #6 1/2 inch screw thing worked for me. Didn't cost me a cent to do either (the hardware store didn't charge me a thing)

Glad to hear...all my ME classes are finally paying off.    happy.gif

Listen,
I did the same thing.. The BEST I mean the best thing and the sure thing to do is to get the bolt and nut solution. You can find the tutorial somewhere on this board. Let me know by PM if you need exact specifications of the screw and the nut and washer to buy from home depot.

To all, even if you haven't stripped your screw, the bolt and nut solution is perfect and never moves, like the screw. Just make sure you don't tighten it too much or you might crack the matrix.
