your matrix is not aligned properly.  Its still booting the regular bios, thats why you're getting the disc reading error.

If it boots the right bios, you will see a Blue Xbox logo when you boot.

The biggest problem with the matrix is that you can't really assume that its aligned properly just because the light is green.  9 times out of 10, the pogo pins are not making contact even if the light is green.  Just keep playing with it.

Make sure you set your dip switches both to ON for getting the light and to Dip 1 - Off and Dip 2 - ON for testing your burned games.

I think its easier to setup if you build an external switch.  Then you can switch modes without accidentally losing alignment.  You can do this with some simple soldering and no external modification of the case.  My switches fit through the side vents.
